Jarrod Keith Moore, 42, has been arrested in Raleigh County on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

On January 3, an officer with the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to Sullivan Road regarding someone possibly attempting to break into a car, according to the criminal complaint.

Upon arrival, the officer found Moore standing by the car with the driver’s door open. Moore then threw a piece of aluminum foil and a straw at the officer, the complaint alleges.

On the aluminum foil was a brown substance that appeared to be heroin, the complaint continues. After questioning, Moore admitted to having 6 grams of heroin in his pocket.

The total amount of heroin found amounted to 7.2 grams. The heroin has a street value of $1,140 and would provide 72 individual doses, according to the complaint.

Upon searching the vehicle, which Moore stated was his, the officer found a Bersa BP9CC handgun with a loaded magazine.

Moore has been charged with one felony count of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver and one misdemeanor charge of littering.

He was booked at Southern Regional Jail on April 21, on a $40,000 cash/surety bond.
