Brandon Lamar Watkins, 33, has been charged with misdemeanor counts of domestic assault and obstructing an officer.
On April 21, a member of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to a home in the Kimberly area regarding two people outside involved in a physical altercation, according to the criminal complaint.
Upon arrival, Watkins was gone, but the officer took a statement from the victim that he had broken a window at the home and commented that he was going to kill her, the complaint alleges.
Members of the Smithers and Montgomery Police Departments assisted and were able to locate Watkins in the area.
While attempting to place Watkins in the back of the cruiser, he became combative and kicked the door of the cruiser, the complaint states.
Watkins is currently at Southern Regional Jail on a $2,500 cash/surety bond.
