A Bluefield man is facing drug charges after being arrested on April 14 by members of the Beckley Police Department.
According to the criminal complaint, an officer on routine patrol noticed a vehicle sitting behind the Hickory Tree Antique Mall on Oakwood Avenue after business hours.
Upon approaching the vehicle, the driver, Robert Charles Jarvis, 61, was allegedly asked to keep his hands on the steering wheel but did not comply. Jarvis was then escorted out of the vehicle and placed in restraints.
A passenger was asked to step out of the vehicle and searched.
After a K-9 indicated the presence of narcotics in the vehicle, officers conducted a search where they found 29.3 grams of methamphetamine, 1.45 grams of fentanyl and a digital scale.
Jarvis has been charged with one felony count of possession of fentanyl, one felony count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and one misdemeanor count of obstructing an officer.
Jarvis is currently being held at Southern Regional Jail on a $35,000 surety/cash bond.
