A Beckley woman is facing misdemeanor charges of drug possession after being accused of trespassing at the Country Inn and Suites.
The criminal complaint filed in Raleigh County Magistrate Court alleges that West Virginia State Troopers responded to a call on April 15 that Kristen Darlean Scalf, 22, was refusing to leave her room even though she had not paid for it.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that Scalf had two active warrants in Raleigh County and was placed under arrest.
While conducting a routine arrest search, troopers found 0.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine and 1.5 grams of suspected heroin on her person.
Scalf has been charged with two misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance. She is also being charged with one misdemeanor count of falsely reporting an emergency incident and one misdemeanor count of destruction of property for events that occurred on February 17, 2021.
Scalf was released after arraignment.
