Ghent Man Arrested For Malicious Wounding

A Ghent man has been arrested on a felony charge of malicious wounding after he allegedly used a knife to cut his victim during a domestic disturbance.

An officer with the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call on March 13 regarding a fight at a home in Ghent, according to the criminal complaint filed in the Raleigh County Magistrate’s Office.

After arriving on the scene, the officer found Cameron Hale Meador, 28, covered in blood along with his victim, who had cuts found on the hands and arms, the complaint states. Meador was also defiant with the officer and in possession of marijuana.

Meador has been charged with one felony count of malicious wounding, one count of domestic battery, one count of obstructing an officer and one count of possession of marijuana less than 15 grams.

Meador was taken to Southern Regional Jail. Bail has been set at $30,000.
