A four-dollar theft from a Sheetz convenience store led to drug charges for one Beckley man.
According to the criminal complaint, Michael Wayne Justice, 52, was arrested by a member of the Beckley Police Department on March 22, after the officer noticed Justice placing two candy bars in his pocket at the Sheetz on Robert C. Byrd Drive.
After Justice left the store without paying for the candy bars, the officer placed him under arrest and he was taken to the police department where a search was conducted.
During this search, the officer located a marijuana joint inside the lining of Justice’s jacket and a small plastic bag containing methamphetamine in the lining of his hat.
Justice was transported to Southern Regional Jail and faces charges of shoplifting (second offense), simple possession of marijuana and a misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance.
