Multiple police departments responded to a domestic disturbance call in Crab Orchard on March 13, after a call came into the Raleigh County 911 center alleging that a female was being strangled by a male.
According to the criminal complaint, members of the West Virginia State Police and Raleigh County Sheriff’s Department arrived on scene and were able to open the unlocked front door to gain entry into the residence.
Once inside, officers found Don Edward Wilson, 46, and the victim, who had redness on her chest and throat area, the complaint states.
Wilson was placed under arrest for strangulation, domestic assault, unlawful restraint, interference with emergency communication and two counts of obstructing an officer.
He is at Southern Regional Jail. Bail was set at $8,000.
