A Beckley man has been arrested after a domestic disturbance at a home on Maplewood Avenue.
Members of the Beckley Police Department responded to a call on April 28 where they spoke with the victim who claimed that Shaquille D. Hannah, 27, had become upset with her and started throwing items around the house, according to the criminal complaint filed in Raleigh County Magistrate Court.
The victim further stated that Hannah had kicked in a door, grabbed her around the throat and threw her to the couch, the complaint alleges.
Officers noted a door that had been broken away from the wall, resulting in $200 damage, and a red mark on the victim’s throat.
Hannah was taken into custody and transported to the Beckley Police Department.
While conducting a criminal history check, officers discovered that Hannah had previously been convicted in Raleigh County for domestic battery on February 28, 2019.
He has been charged with one misdemeanor count of domestic battery second offense and one misdemeanor count of destruction of property.
Hannah was released following arraignment.
